A Message from Floyd
Rhoades about our Care Package Project for the U.S. Marines
Fellow Rotarian:
If you were at our Monday meeting last week, you know that we
have a project to send Care Packages to deployed Marines of the H&S Company,
3rd Battalion, 7th Marines.
The boxes to fill are in route, the items for the package are
ordered and we are committed to send off the Care Packages before the middle of
October. We have had a couple of generous contributions to this effort,
but I am writing today to solicit your financial support. The cost of this
project for our Club is estimated to come in around $1500.00. So far, we
have $60 and some in-kind contributions have been verbally expressed but not yet
received. Our District 5330 has committed to assist with the effort but at
this time I don’t have a clear indication of the level of their financial
support.
If you want an opportunity to personally and concretely
express your appreciation to these Marines who are currently serving in Iraq and
Afghanistan, this is a great way to do it. We will include in each package a
list of those who supported this effort.
I will be at the Monday meeting and will gladly receive your
contributions at that time, or if it is easier for you to send me a check by
mail, my contact information is below.
Thank you for your support to this very worthwhile cause.
Keep the Faith,
Floyd
